The error I got earlier was "The system database file master. Noting else. The only way I know this will happen is if master.
I'll try a clean os and see if I can repro with all of the items selected and report back if successful. The WebPI threw the error stated above:. ValidationException Slp: Message: Slp: The system database file master. However, everything appears to be installed.
I think the installer is buggy. Everything appears to be working, but that error message made me panic for a minute! I'll try just running the installer again and ignoring the error no amount of uninstalilng or deleting teh files has helped. I have tried both the platform and the web platform tool. Both fail. Uninstall usually fails too "stopped working" right at the end.
I've manually ensured files were deleted whacked the entire folder too before re-installing. To no avail. I tried the step of just ignoring the failure message. I stopped the service, and it refused to start again. I tried a repair install, and it couldn't repair it because it said the SQL core components had never been successfully configured.
I'm at my wits end here.
