MacX YouTube Downloader. Microsoft Office YTD Video Downloader. Adobe Photoshop CC. VirtualDJ Avast Free Security. WhatsApp Messenger. Talking Tom Cat. Clash of Clans. Subway Surfers. TubeMate 3. Google Play. It simples things rather than opening each app. For example: if you want to check the sports scores and check your e-mail. Open the program, click the Mail icon then click the Sports icon.
Newbies to the web will love how easy it is to get from place to place and experienced people will appreciate the fact of getting from one area to the next without loads of clutter on your desktop and the need to not have to open multiple programs to get to where or what you want.
On a side note: I honestly don't see why people are allowed to 'Review' a product without even trying it. A review is supposed to help people decide whether they want it and all I see is people bashing AOL for the past history and past apps.
I appreciate those who do 'real' reviews rather than just come on here and bash the company and call it a 'review' then accuse those who like the product of 'working for AOL' or whatever company they don't like.
I love this site, but I find it very difficult to really want to read the reviews here, if it is all non-sense. Actually, there may one day be a need for this product in the future-- assuming it's done right-- as AOL is going down a better path: bundled voip, improved portal, improved entertainment offerings All in all, if i was running them, i would just partner up with Google-- much faster and cost-effective to achieve their goals alongside them. I cant believe AOL is still releasing this stuff Of course I fail to see why anyone still uses it as a primary ISP.
They never got it right nor will they ever. I guess it's freedom of choice.. I threw my security blanket away when I grew up. Well I agree with the person below me. I remember my problems with AOL. When I uninstalled AOL, it had crippled my system computer. I dread the thought of what this will do. I am not against the fact that you love this garbage. BetaNews is not a place for childhood bickering or grudge matches, be a man and accept everyone elses reviews. I've been a loyal AOL customer for years, not an employee.
Maybe one day you'll snap out of it, give it time. Whether the service is good or crap, I realize you're 'loyal' because you simply don't know better. I bet you still use windows media player, use the default windows firewall, use aol modified browser and have adds popping all over your desktop.
I haven't had ads pop up in years? Where have you been hiding? You probably haven't ever used the program or else it's been back in the day when ads did pop up which was ages and ages ago. People like you knock a program without ever trying it. That makes you pathetic. So basically you have a desktop within a desktop. How ancient AOL. You could have had something unique when you had AOL Suite, but no Much like your company is doing now.
Who in the heck users AOL? Aside from my grandmother. It's a joke isn't it? AOL was great, 10 years ago. But it's like a kid's toy that adults just don't need. I love this program, not sure how i did without it in the past. Was I pleasantly surprised! It is very impressive in looks as well as usability.
There is no clutter or unwanted programs installed. If you do a custom install you have the choice of what gets onto your machine. Those that are throwing out insults probably have not even tried it. If you have Vista Reviewer: godofthunder Oct 26, Version: 2.
And perhaps your rating is killing the averaging system. NOTE: yanike your findings are wrong. Go back to the testlabs and please don't rate 5 just cause you are a fanboy. People seem to forget that this is still beta. It is for the AOL icon located by the clock on the system task bar. All AOL clients put an icon on the taskbar.
If you have a problem with this using up memory. Use CCleaner and take it out of your start up list. But if you take it out of your start up and don't get the AOL icon on the task bar, you won't be able to get to some of the features of Helix as quickly. I found it to be a good all in one solution for the people that use AOL. I kind of like that, I can burn it to a CD if I wanted. Just delete it if it bothers you. Helix is easy to use for previous AOL users.
If AOL isn't your cup of tea, then don't use it. Good grief people, get a grip on your emotions, It's a beta for goodness sake. Well seen how this program is from AOL Inc. I urg you alls to stay away from it, unless you alls got sucked in to it by a promo ads. The program sucks. And, as usual, AOL has included an uninstaller that does anything but uninstall. You may never get all of the junk it leaves behinf off of your machine.
This company needs to be bought and destroyed as a public service. Excellent Beta and best program AOL has ever made. Very simple to set up and easy to run. I've tested everything you can think of and nothing comes close and as easy as AOL Helix.
It's a combination of all the great things out to day in one and doesn't use that much memory at all to run. One thing about the tech world today, they are hooked on Firefox and other Mozilla products. Which they will tell anyone to use them. I for one have tested out all products and Mozilla does have some good products, but they are not the best products out.
We all agree that AOL is bloated, resourced hungry, and incredibly unstable. We also believe that it contains spyware.
